A few of us spent useful time at the FIREX and Safety & Health Expo at the Excel Centre on 18th, 19th and 20th June. There are always loads of new products to look at, suppliers to meet up with and interesting lectures, CPD and open forum discussions.
This year we met up with our contacts at FSI where we purchase much of our passive fire protection materials. Many thanks to Tim Barker and his colleagues for their time.
We also had a long chat with Tony Corcoran who is membership secretary for the ASFP (Association of Specialist Fire Protection). This is a very worthwhile organisation and we are starting our membership application. It's not just a case of paying some money and joining. The application process is rigorous as it should be so that you can be sure that companies in the association are reputable and have roper systems in place.
I hope to post here soon that we have been accepted for membership.
